INSA Lyon: Summer Engineering Programs

INSA Lyon is a partner university who offers summer engineering programs that have been approved by the University of Pittsburgh. You can learn more about programs here.

The programs and locations below have been vetted to ensure that they meet the health, safety, security and academic standards that Pitt requires. How this program fulfills academic requirements is up to the discretion of your academic advisor.

*Not every theme, course or term is available for every  program listed here. Please refer to the INSA program webpage for specifics or schedule a meeting with your global experiences advisor.

We recognize that in some cases you may find a program that meets your academic, professional and personal needs better than a program on our recognized list. Please meet with your global experiences advisor to discuss the petition process for these specific cases.

The program costs are outlined on the websites above.  You will pay a $300 study abroad fee to the University of Pittsburgh and all other costs as outlined by INSA Lyon are paid directly to INSA Lyon.  (Pitt students will pay the "Full cost" to Lyon directly as listed on the INSA Lyon page; the "full cost" is listed on the INSA Lyon page currently as € 4,200-5,300 contingent on the program choice.)

Application Instructions:

If you are applying to a Pitt-recognized program (PRP), you must work concurrently on the internal Pitt application that you create at www.globalexperiences.pitt.edu and on your program provider’s application through their respective websites. You can’t move forward without completing both applications. While program providers’ application deadlines are often later than our internal Pitt deadline, you have to finish the Pitt application’s pre-decision steps by our internal deadline. A Pitt GEO Advisor will ensure that both your GPA and your disciplinary record allow your status to be changed to “nominated” on your Pitt application.  The actual acceptance to your PRP comes from the provider only after you are nominated by Pitt. Reach out to your Pitt GEO Advisor with any questions. We are here to help!
